Love. Story. Inspiration. Response.
The people of Huntsville love one another, and it shows in their stories. This love knows no age, no race, no creed, no color, no gender, no disability, no religion. This love is neither boastful nor proud. It cares more for others than for self. It doesn’t keep score. It always looks for the best.
This love is shown to victims of human trafficking, violence and loneliness. It is given to those seeking education, a roof over their heads or a meal to keep them warm. It is exemplified when neighbors help clean up storm damage, when barbers provide school supplies and a fresh cut to help kids start school right, and when little girls ask for donations to help feed the hungry (rather than presents) for their birthdays.
It is the desire of LOVEHunstville is to awaken souls to real causes in our city, inspire hearts, and encourage a response within a community of people that want to make a difference. The goal of LOVEHuntsville is not simply awareness, not just story, but action.
Why do we tell stories?
Story is as old as cave paintings and as new as that joke you heard at the water cooler. Story is as infinite as the bounds of the universe and as intimate as a shared whisper. Story helps remember the birth of a first child and the death of a parent.
Story is informative. Story is entertaining. Story is persuasive. Story tells us where we’ve been, where we are and where we’re going. Story is our medium. Love is our message.
Why do we utilize art?
Art – paintings, photographs, music, video – tells story in a way that is deeper than mere words could ever convey. It gives you a pre-language look into the joy or pain or grief or exuberance inside the heart of the artist.
Art has been used for centuries to tell story.
