Always creative and artistically talented, Susan began creating at a young age. She worked tirelessly designing and constructing all of the ideas that developed in her mind. From beads and buttons to fabric and clay, she was always working on a new project.

After receiving her bachelors degree and pursuing a successful career as a software engineer, Susan discovered the most astounding medium of all. Glass took it’s hold on her and there was no turning back.

Susan apprenticed in studios throughout New England for several glassblowers as an assistant in order to master this amazing substance. Finally, she decided to venture out on her own and premiered her wholesale line. It was greatly received and is sold in galleries, catalogs and stores throughout the world.

After traveling extensively, Susan and her husband Jim decided to grow roots in Huntsville, Alabama. Here she lives her dream in her studio, Susan Knecht Studio & Gallery, Inc., which embodies all of the designs and ideas that Susan continually composes, including glass, lighting, jewelry and accessories.
