History Lowe Mill began the shows towards the end of 2008 .. in the hopes of bringing new people to the Mill, encouraging repeat visitors and to complete the title of Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment .. by adding the element of music to an already thriving arts scene. The first full year of these concerts were primarily local acts, mostly solo or duo in nature. The second season, however, became more geared toward out-of-town acts and full bands. Now into our third season, the ratio between out-of-town to local acts has evened out to 50/50. The series is now regularly attended by 250-500 people each week. These shows have remained free .. with Lowe Mill graciously accepting donations (all used for future events). The series is also sponsored by The Fret Shop and Green Pea Press. Music events coordinator, Evan Billiter, hopes that these shows offer an opportunity for patrons to experiment with their music taste. In the past, genre's represented have been jazz, blues, reggae, pop, country, folk, americana, swing, irish, and bluegrass. All of which have been booked in the effort to support local and regional original music.
