Come kick off Halloween weekend at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment with our Great Pumpkin Carving contest, featuring live music, food trucks, and more!

The Great Pumpkin Carve takes place on October 26th from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM. Contests are asked to pay a $5 entry fee if they are carving or smashing a pumpkin. Carvers will compete in six different pumpkin carving categories for a chance to win an array of prizes. Contestants are asked to bring their own tools, pumpkins, and a $5 entry fee. Once carvers are done with their masterpieces, pumpkins will be placed on the dock and voting will begin. Winners will be determined by the public and announced at the end of the night.

In addition to carving, Denise Onwere with Studio 203 will be hosting pumpkin painting for the little ones.

Parking is $5. Please carpool!

Best Carving – Best use of cutting, carving, or engraving to achieve outstanding effects in the final design.

Most Original – Best use of imagination and creativity. Create a new twist on the ol’ Jack-O-Lantern or come up with a pumpkin that will be sure to stand out in any patch.

Best Use of Pumpkin – Pumpkin that have been carved to their fullest. Qualifying pumpkins will be judged for original size and shape that are incorporated into the final design. This could include using pieces of the pumpkin to change the shape.

People’s Choice – This is chosen by the spectators during all three nights of the Great Pumpkin Carve.

Please note: If you decide to use any additional materials as design elements (other than the assigned pumpkin or its natural components, such as seeds, “guts”, and the pumpkin itself) it will make the pumpkin eligible only for the People’s Choice Award and ineligible for all the other awards.
