Tri-X-Noise is a new photobook and a pop-up traveling photography exhibit by legendary filmmaker and photographer Bill Daniel. The show is based on a modular free-standing wall on which the 160-image photo exhibit is mounted, allowing the show to move daily. This unique setup allows the event to take place in a wide range of places and communities. The mobility of the show is inherent in the contemporary cultures of skating, music, and art.
The photographs are analog darkroom prints from Daniel’s documentary archive. They span from the 1980s punk shows and skate sessions in Texas, and continue through activity in the present. Daniel’s underground photography is already well known in the scene, and this book/tour project will bring the work to a larger audience. Through flash-lit, wildly-exposed, and hand printed photographs, Tri-X-Noise makes this underworld visible.
Bill will be doing an Artist Talk at 4 PM during the event.
