Come out for a night of punk rock! Start the weekend early with us at Vertical House and three incredible bands. The deets and links are below:

NOX BOYS (Pittsburgh, Pa)

The band, straight out of Blawnox, PA, debuted in 2014 with their self-titled album on record label Get Hip. Their record company’s co-owner, Gregg Kostelich of the Cynics, knew he had a formidable group of garage band enthusiasts who were ready to create a unique style of their own. He was right.

The Nox Boys have built quite a reputation in western PA, but their reach doesn’t end there. They’ve opened for notable bands such as Mudhoney, FIDLAR, Twin Peaks, The Black Lips, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, The Cynics, and many more. The Nox Boys reached a milestone in 2015, opening for Benjamin Booker on Three Rivers Arts Festival’s main stage in Pittsburgh, PA. They have received quite a bit of airplay on Little Stephen’s Underground Garage (SIRIUS XM), Burger Records Rock “N” Roll Radio Show, college radio, and mainstream radio stations in the Pittsburgh area such as WYEP, WDVE, THE X, and more.

Their sophomore effort will be coming out this year on legendary Garage rock label Get Hip Records.

Some may know him as the mild-mannered clerk at Wuxtry Records in Athens, GA, others may remember him as the drummer for now-defunct pervert pop band CARS CAN BE BLUE, but the only way to truly know the cauldron of lust, hate & bitterness that seethes within the anguished depths of Nate Mitchell’s eternally tortured soul is to listen to his band: NATE & the NIGHTMARES
(user discretion is advised)
Bad Hops is a three-piece rock band that popped up in Birmingham in the summer of 2018. Featuring members of Holy Youth and The Glory Fires, Bad Hops writes and rips through quick tunes influenced by mid-70s New York punk and a bunch of other stuff with loud guitars. The band cut several tracks in the studio in fall 2018, and they’ll release the first two singles from those sessions with Earth Libraries in February 2019.
