Kinetic sculptures are beautiful works of art that incorporate motion into their 3-dimensional design. These types of sculptures have their origin in the early 1900’s. Duchamp’s very famous “Bicycle Wheel” is considered the start of the Kinetic Art Movement. Artists use imaginative sources, from wind to motors, in kinetic sculptures to create their movement. Kinetic sculptures can be found all over the world as public art installments, in galleries, and in people’s homes.
In this month’s Monthly Maker, artist Jessica Nunno will guide participants through the creative process of building their own kinetic sculpture.
The workshop is $20 for non members and included in your membership package for members at Huntsville STEAM Works.
