In this course, the instructor will guide students through the fundamental steps of watercolor painting: underdrawing, initial paint application, and layering. You will be introduced to techniques for conveying more complicated imagery in different styles including “wet on wet”, “dry brush”, and “gradation” of hue. No prior experience is needed. Students complete the course with a functional grasp of watercolor painting processes and techniques and will have completed 1-2 paintings by applying course concepts to reference photographs. (This may differ or be adjusted for individuals.) Registration: This class is limited to four students. Group class rates are available at $40 per individual. Please call for more information.
This class is not a one night only class. The first class is introductory and consists of demonstrations; you don’t have to bring anything. Students start working on a class project during the second session. One project generally takes 2 classes to complete. You can decide if you like to move on, or stop anytime. You can see the projects on my website.
