Elizabeth NorwoodWho are Beth and Joey Norwood and how does one explain the insane and magical environment they create within their studio walls and throughout Lowe Mill as a whole? There is no logical place to begin, so we will describe this lovely couple by simply listing a few of the things they do to make our community so special. Beth and Joey are visual artists who work in collage, assemblage, installation, and a lot lot more. Beth loves making small mixed-media collages, but she is more often seen gracing the stage in wild, colorful, and enchanting costumes as her Posey Peep Show character, Aunt Sofonda. She’s a local radio personality and a deliriously clever songwriter. Joey is a mad scientist who blends all manner of media together for installation art and live experimental electronic music. As a duo they have written plays together, starred in their own music videos together, and created and contributed to the visual and performing arts in Huntsville in immeasurable ways. The world needs more ‘Beth and Joey’s. Come get to know them at Lowe Mill any time.
