Ann Vann was born in Tucson, AZ. She lived in several states including Pennsylvania and Texas before earning her BFA from Birmingham-Southern College in 2010. She began exhibiting primarily pen-and-ink work in 2014.

My art explores themes found in folklore, history, and nature. I am especially inspired by the work of amateur scientists, Japanese printmakers, and Victorian illustrators.

Vann’s work has been described as whimsical, intricate, and quirky. While her work is representational, it is characterized by imaginative narratives and a contemporary aesthetic.

Vann currently lives in Huntsville, AL, with her husband, her cats, and her cactus collection. She shows and works in Studio 2025 at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment, the largest privately owned arts facility in the United States.
