Green Pea Press: Printmaking, Studios 111 & 122
Lowe Mill A&E is incredibly lucky to be the home of Green Pea Press, Rachel Lackey’s clean community printmaking studio that provides local artists, students, and visitors the opportunity to explore printmaking! Green Pea’s first studio, Studio 122, has a variety of presses and tools for many forms of printmaking, including intaglio, relief, mono-print, letterpress, screen-print and waterless lithography. Experienced artists get access to valuable tools, and the public has the opportunity to learn printing skills through Green Pea’s regular classes, lectures, and workshops. Rachel’s second space, Studio 111 is a shop where visitors can purchase all kinds of prints such as posters, calendars, t-shirts, and more from local artists. Green Pea offers learning opportunities for all ages and skill levels. Come learn about this incredible art form for yourself! You can find the upcoming workshop schedule here or at http://greenpeapress.com/
Green Pea Press seeks to deepen appreciation and understanding of the printmaking arts by providing residents of the Tennessee Valley educational lectures and workshops, access to equipment, and opportunities for exhibition, collaboration and exchange.
We are the only public-access printmaking studio in North Alabama, and part of the burgeoning art community at historic Lowe Mill.
We provide artists access to printmaking equipment in a variety of media, including intaglio, relief, monoprint, letterpress, screenprint and waterless lithography, as well as bookmaking.
We hold classes and workshops in these media for all different skill levels.
We print custom orders, including t-shirts and other textiles, posters, cd covers, invitations and more. Your purchase will support the studio and the local artists who print your order.
