Jeannine Fitzgeralds: Mixed Media, Studio 261
As a kid, Jeannie Fitzgeralds collected birds’ nests. She marveled at the array of objects the birds would find and weave into their creations. Inspired, Jeannine began making her own creations out of found objects. She uses buttons, spools, toys, and anything else she can find to create artwork that reminds one of both the combines created by Robert Rauschenberg and the playful images found in I SPY books. Jeannine herself has a love of books- she loves cutting them up to make artwork! Her unique journal covers, placemats, shopping bags, calendars, and posters are all made from upcycled materials like books and magazine covers. Like those ingenious birds, Jeannine’s work is constantly changing according to her environment and available materials, so you’re always sure to find something new in her studio.
