Meg Krampf: Printmaking, Studio 303
My name is Meg and I’m a bespoke bookbinder. I am completely self-taught, although I have studied the writings of master level bookbinders extensively. My current focus is to rebind beloved stories into highly customized, artistic, and aesthetically pleasing hardcovers.
I believe that the events written on the page are only half the story; the rest can be found on the cover and in the reader. When I design a book for a client, I place the utmost importance on the person’s particular vision. Books are interpreted differently by each reader, so I try my best to capture their interpretation in the design by focusing it on particular characters, themes, or quotes. I want each book to reflect the spirit of the client.
