Hi Everyone! It's that time of year again.
The weather is cooler and the glass is hot and ready! We are now accepting students for one day intensive Intro to Glassblowing sessions starting in January.
We have limited space (only four student to a class) and the classes are currently being scheduled for Sundays at Susan Knecht Studio & Gallery, Inc. located in the historic Lowe Mill, 2211 Seminole Drive SW, Huntsville, Al, 35805. Space is limited but if Sundays fill up we will schedule Saturday evenings as well.
Classes are from 1:00pm to 5:00pm and I suggest you arrive AT LEAST 15 minutes early. Cost per student is $250. All students must be 18 or older. We will cover the basics of glassblowing, such as gathering, blocking, marvering, tool usage, the annealing process, use of color, solid and hollow vessels, etc. Students with prior glassblowing experience, please email or call and we will arrange for more advanced classes.

Gift Certificates available. Things you need for class: Notebook bottled water tube or knee socks with the hands cut out to protect your forearms when gathering glass from the furnace, as well as working at the bench with hand tools. Glass is hot! sunglasses (or glasses with UV protection) more water!
